किसी पुरानी कहानी के किरदार हैं हम,
किसी गुज़री कविता के श्रृंगार हैं हम,
दम रखते थे भविष्य का रुख बदलने में,
आज एक इतिहास का पाठ हैं हम।।

kisi guzri kavita ke shirngaar hain hum,
dum rakhte the bhavisya ka rukh badalne main,
aaj ek itihaas ka paath hain hum.

English translation:
We are a character out of an old tale,
We are the beauty of an old poem,
Once, we had the strength to change the course of the future,
Today we are just another chapter of the history books..
